Laser Treatments
Tattoo Removal
Laser tattoo removal planned around the size, depth and colour of the ink, with a realistic session estimate.
- Duration
- 30 minutes
- Downtime
- Frosting, swelling and scabbing for 7–10 days per session.
- Results
- Progressive lightening after each session.
- Sessions
- 6–12 sessions, 6–8 weeks apart, depending on the ink

Laser light shatters tattoo ink into fragments small enough for your immune system to carry away over the following weeks. The process is gradual by nature — each session lightens the tattoo, and the body does the clearing in between.
How many sessions you need depends on the ink's colour, its depth, how long it has been there and whether it was professionally applied. Black and dark blue respond best. Greens, light blues and some yellows are stubborn, and a few pigments will not clear completely. We give you an honest estimate at consultation rather than a number designed to get you started.

What happens during treatment
Assessment & estimate
Ink colour, depth and age are assessed and a realistic session count and cost are given.
Patch test
A small area is treated and reviewed to confirm response and settle settings.
Treatment sessions
Sessions are spaced 6–8 weeks apart to allow the body to clear the fragmented ink.
Aftercare
Dressing, wound care and sun avoidance instructions are given after every session.
Common questions
Often, but not always. Black ink usually clears well. Greens, light blues and some yellows can be stubborn, and a faint shadow sometimes remains. We will tell you at consultation what we realistically expect for your tattoo.
Most patients say it is comparable but much quicker. Cooling is used throughout and topical anaesthetic is available for larger pieces.
