Carbon Laser

A layer of medical-grade liquid carbon is applied and allowed to settle into the pores. A Q-switched laser is then passed over the face: the light is absorbed by the carbon, which vaporises and takes oil, debris and dead surface cells with it, while the energy delivered stimulates a mild collagen response.
It is the treatment we recommend most often before an event. There is no downtime, the glow is immediate, and unlike a chemical peel there is no shedding phase to plan around.

What happens during treatment
Cleanse & assessment
Makeup and oil are removed and the skin is checked for any active inflammation.
Carbon application
Liquid carbon is applied evenly and left to settle into the pores.
Laser pass
The laser is passed across the face in two modes — one to lift the carbon, one to refine.
Finish
Residue is removed, and a calming serum and sunscreen are applied.
Common questions
Two to three days before is ideal — the glow peaks at about 48 hours. It is one of the few treatments safe to have close to a date.
Most patients describe a warm snapping sensation and a faint smell during the laser pass. No numbing is required.
